Lucky Leprechaun Giveaway Hop! Win Six Books

Bloggers appreciate readers, and so do I, so I'm giving away a six-pack of YA science fiction and fantasy books to one lucky, randomly-selected follower. Lure is a paperback; the rest are hardbacks. The Adoration of Jenna Fox is signed. My shelves are overflowing and my nose hates the book dust I'm too lazy to take care of--so I'm pleased to give them away to a lucky winner, and I hope you enjoy them as much as I did.

To enter:
1. You must be a follower of this blog. It's on your honor; if you follow anonymously or through an RSS feed, or some other way, you are eligible to enter. One entry per person, please!
2. You must provide me with an e-mail address where I can reach you (I recommend mangling it to avoid getting spam), and with a U.S. mailing address if you are the lucky winner. I tend to be slow to get books in the mail during the winter months, and I apologize for that, but I always get books out eventually!
3. You must leave me a comment that answers this question: If you had to choose just one, would you rather have magic or science, and why?
The giveaway closes at midnight on Sunday, March 20. I'll use a random number generator to select the winner in the next week.

Thanks to Books Complete Me and I Am a Reader, Not a Writer for arranging the blog hop!

  1. I am a gfc follower. That is a tough one, because I am a science geek. Even though I really like magic, I would have to go with science.

  2. Science - because I'd rather use my brain and I assume that the magic would be available to anyone regardless of intelligence.

  8. I'm a follower....LOL
I'm gonna have to go with Magic....I mean science is cool but even science can't explain Magic!!!!

  9. *rub eyes disbelievingly* SIX BOOKS? AM I READING THAT RIGHT?! xD I'd totally go with magic because it's cool. Yep, it's cool. Science is interesting and all, but magic is just... MAGIC. you cant ask formore than that. I'm not a nerd or anything, so magic might be easier for me to use rather than gravitational force or whatever. Thanks for the giveaway!

  10. oh crap I forgot to say that I'm a follower...!
    Anyways, I am. Sorry. Thanks!

  11. Great giveaway! I'd love a chance to win!
    I'm a GFC follower.
I like science, but I think I'd like magic long as it was the Harry Potter sort of magic and not the Earthsea or So You Want to Be A Wizard type of magic...

  12. Magic - because some things in this world don't always need an explanation. Thanks for the opportunity. (Hugs)Indigo

  15. I am a GFC follower. n
I would be be magic, because its awsome. You can have anything and everything you could ever want, and it is just awsome to know that no one could mess with me because I can put a spell on them at any time. Lol.

  16. Hi! I'm a new follower. I'd choose magic, so I could get out of rush hour traffic whenever I needed!
    janmessali (at)

  17. I'm a new GFC follower. I'd have to go with science because I'm so OCD that I need everything following the rules and staying inside its box...magic is too unpredictable!

    shwengreen (at) gmail (dot) com

  18. Thank you for the giveaway :). GFC follower.

Magic, because science takes a while to figure out how to do stuff. With magic, you could be like "I want this" and it's there. Plus science can't give you materialistic things :P

  19. Im a new gfc and i vote magic! lol

  20. I'm a GFC follower.

And I'd pick magic: I enjoy the mystery.

Magic would have to be my choice.

  25. I'm a GFC follower (new)

I think that magic is more fun and mysterious. Plus it's kind of one of those three wish things where you wish for more wishes, because if you have magic can't you make science? :)

    Thanks for the giveaway!

I would want magic because it seems so special and unique. I want to be different than everybody else because science is all around us.

  30. Thanks for the giveaway! Sci-fi is a new branch of Y.A. that I am slowly (but surely) getting into. To answer your question: I love the idea of magic. It is irrational but that is probably what I like most about it. I am now 18 and I still find myself wanting to believe in magic. Thanks again!

My answer is.....magic.....because doesn't it also include some science? It's not just pointing your finger or wiggling your nose. You must be part alchemist, part botanist & there has to be an inane understanding of the outcome you are more like science than most people think.

    Blazesandbubbles AT gmail DOT com

  34. I would rather have magic because its supernatural and i like that.

    I follow through GFC

  35. I should probably say science...but I never liked my science classes. So magic it is! Plus, that would be super cool. Magic is better for me.

    Thanks for the chance!

  36. I am a follower.

I think magic and science would go hand in hand. Like the Sorcerer's Apprentice (the movie). So I'd pick magic, and then I'd have both. :)

  37. I am a GFC follower!

I would love to choose science, but I HAVE to go with magic because it is so much more fun :)

  38. follow gfc publicly

I would rather have magic because it seems so much more exciting and unpredictable.. but then again isn't nature - which is science? But overall, I would take magic.. because to me love is the ultimate magic, it's something that science cannot explain, it just happens! :)

  46. I'm a GFC follower (Chloe B)

This is such a tough choice but I think I'll go with magic, because if you were good enough at magic you could make science happen. Does thsat make any sense? Haha, anyway, thanks for the giveaway!

Thanks for the chance to win!!

I know science is the more practical answer but magic is the more fun answer. I choose magic. :)

  49. Hi, I follow your blog publicly via Google Friend Connect as shala_darkstone. I'd choose magic because you could do things that you can't using only science.

  50. I follow with GFC.

    megankyser at gmail dot com

Hm.. I am going to have to say magic even though I'm a science nerd by trade. Magic could only make the world more interesting.

I prefer magic because I could use it to do good deeds.

  55. Hi, I am a new follower. Thanks for the giveaway.

I would choose science because I don't trust other people with magic.

  56. GFC follower

    Science for me!

  57. What a great giveaway!

Wow! What a hard question! One that does not have an easy answer because both could be abused. Alexis said that she wouldn't trust other people with magic, but I think the same can be said of science as well. That's why dystopia has become as popular as it has.

If I had to pick one I guess I'd say science because it involves more thought and effort than magic.

  66. I would totally go with magic!!! Soooo much cooler then science!

    awesome giveaway!!

  67. I'm an old GFC follower - (Marie K)

I would choose magic. A combo of both would be best, but if I had to have one -- magic. Seems like anything is possible with magic whereas science is limited to knowledge available.

    Thanks for the giveaway!

    BellaMarie @ tampabay . rr . com

  68. Thanks SO SO much for the giveaway! It's really awesome :) I'm a new GFC Follower.

Definitely magic. Magic is unlimited and complicated and beautiful. (On any other day, I would probably pick science, but I just finished watching the first three Harry Potter movies today, so I'm in the "magic" mood)

  69. MAGIC all the way. :) I'm a new GFC follower: Lorielle. Email:

I would choose magic, because you can (in my little world) make anything from magic. Science is always limited to the knowledge of the human race. Magic is magic!

  77. GFC follower
I would choose magic. There is no limit on what can happen. Anything could be possible.

  78. GFC follower
I would choose magic because science has limits.

I think that Magic and Science go hand in hand. Like Ying and Yang. You can't really have one with out the other. That's my opinion anyway :)

    JaidisShaw at yahoo dot com

  80. GFC FOLLOWER-ashley

I would rather have magic its just so much more fun and doesn't work on rather the data is correct!!!!

  81. Hi, I love your giveaway and it's originality!

    GFC: Thebookfaery/Kristi

    Kristi Stern
    3691 Old State Rd
    National City, Michigan 48748

I'd have to choose both. The best of both. Science has given us many wonderful things (cures to many illnesses, electronics :o} etc...) but it has also given us many bad things such as Weapons of Mass Destruction.
The same would go with Magic. If everyone could do Magic the world would be in chaos! It would have to be only good magic
So, I think a world with both Good Science and Good Magic would be my Ideal world!

  82. GFC follower!

I'd pick magic, despite being a total science geek, because magic isn't something that can truly be described. It just *is* instead of having all those rules to define it by.

  83. Magic ~ I think you can do just about anything with magic. Fly, Go invisible, cure anything. I pick magic.

    mary_reiss @

  84. I'm a gfc follower.
I would pick magic because I think I'm already a brainy person so I would love magic. Plus magic is kinda unknown and it would be great to know about something that many people don't know about.

  85. Science because its more predictable and one can do a less harm with it than with magic.

    crazypplrok at gmail dot com

  86. I think I'd go with magic. Science is all around us everyday (especially as a Nursing major), but magic seems extraordianary.

~Hannah (same name on GFC where I follow you)

  87. I would rather have Science. That would mean i was smart.I could do a lot of things with Science. Science put a man on the moon!

All books won are donated to the Middletown High school They would love these. I donate them to the school library after i read them. Thank you for the giveasway

  91. Thank you for the giveaway. I'm a new GFC follower as sablelexi.
I wish I could say science, since I spent the last ten years of my life studying science, but seriously, if I could actually have magic I think I'd take it, and not because it was easier, but because it opens so many new and interesting things I could do.

    jlynettes @ hotmail . com

  92. Magic. It can beat science any day.
